Local women’s cricket clubs received a boost this week in conjunction with the Toyota Good For Cricket 2020 Kit giveaways.
Mackay Toyota Fleet Sales Manager Andrew McLellan presented kits to Pinnacle Cricket Club, Mackay Hurricanes Cricket Club, Walkerston Cricket Club, Pioneer Valley Cricket Club, Magpies Cricket Club & Southern Suburbs Cricket Club at Harrup Park yesterday.
Andrew said “Toyota’s been a long term supporter of grassroots cricket, through our good for cricket raffles and donation of kits. We hope to encourage more girls to get involved with the sport through these donations.”
Toyota gave 100 women’s cricket teams across the country a Toyota Good for Cricket Women’s Kit, filled with everything they need to play with confidence. Bats and balls, stumps, gloves & helmets were all included in the packs.
Mackay Cricket Association’s Blake Cooper said the clubs were ecstatic to receive brand new kits for their women’s teams. “This will go a long way for growing female cricket in the region” said Mr Cooper.
