School Tree Day Success

Local schools and community groups rolled up their sleeves and put on the gloves to help plant 2000 trees at Janes Creek, next to the new soccer fields.

This event is the second plantng at this location and finalises the commitment to the rejuvination of the area. The trees planted in 2015 have had significatant growth. TauTau Moga from the North Queensland Toyota Cowboys dropped in to lend his support again this year. He was supprised by how much the trees he help plant last year had grown. "Are they really the plants I help plant last year" he questioned when shown the planting site.

Being an old hand at tree planting, TauTau, along with the students from Whitsunday Anglican School and Victoria Park State School taught team mates Braden Uele & Josh Chudleigh how to correctly plant trees to ensure their viability.

Everyone involved worked hard to get 2000 trees planted before heading back to shcool for the day.
